Nominal and maximum frequency of rotation

The internal combustion engine reaches the maximum power with a certain frequency of rotation – the so-called nominal frequency of rotation. A set of bigger speed does not give a prize on power. He can serve good service unless for switching to the following, highest transfer.

It is quite possible to call our engines steady against the increased rotation frequency. The drive of valves is carried out by means of dish-shaped pushers directly from the camshaft located above. At the same time only small masses is set in motion that allows to develop the high frequency of rotation without danger to the drive of valves.

It is possible to lift turns of the engine to about 6300 rpm only for a short time. The engine then considerably "growls" that is caused by fluctuations of a bent shaft in its bearings.
