Ignition distributor

Distributor of ignition of the 5-cylinder engine in unassembled form

1 – ignition distributor runner;
2 – dustproof cover;
3 – ignition distributor cover;

To open the ignition distributor: to wring out the screw-driver fixing brackets (arrows), to lift a cover of the distributor (4) from the case (3), to remove the runner of the distributor (1), to remove a dustproof cover (2).

VMT – position of the distributor of ignition: the contact payment of the runner of the distributor has to be opposite to a mark on the edge of the case (shooter). A mark it is visible at the removed dustproof cover.

Models with 4-and 5-cylinder engines

The distributor of ignition is in a sense words two-level. At each level various works are performed:

  • In a high-voltage element the runner of the distributor distributes an ignition impulse on candles.
  • At the lower level of the distributor Hall's sensor causing the operating impulses is located.

Dismantling of the distributor of ignition


  1. To wring out metal fixing brackets of a cover by means of the screw-driver.
  2. To disconnect a wire of "weight" from shielding.
  3. To uncover the distributor, high-voltage wires remain connected.
  4. To remove the distributor runner, to take out the dustproof cover located below.
  5. At installation to insert a dustproof cover so that the directing ledge entered a groove on edge of the case of the distributor.
  6. The runner of the distributor has an inflow which enters dredging on a distributor shaft.
  7. The cover of the distributor is also supplied with inflow as protection against shift, it has to enter a cut on the distributor case.

Check of the distributor of ignition


  1. To uncover the ignition distributor. It has to be pure both inside, and outside in order that the conducting raid from dirt, products of friction or moisture did not take away a high-tension current from system of ignition.
  2. Contact coal in the middle has to be smooth and brilliant, move without jammings and jammings.
  3. The runner of the distributor should not be burned on a contact uvula and on the filling mass of the noise suppressing resistor between average contact and a uvula.
  4. Correctly chosen runner of the distributor has to have marking of "R1".
  5. Strips as from a graphitic pencil, on a cover of the distributor are traces of leakage of current which burned out these strips because of dirt or moisture.
  6. Temporarily it can be corrected if to stsarapat them the screw-driver or a knife and to cover from above with a layer of glue, nail varnish or, for want of something better, simply lipstick.

Removal of the distributor of ignition


  1. Removal: to install the first cylinder in situation the provision of VMT of the moment of ignition, see the head Dvigateli.
  2. To uncover the ignition distributor.
  3. To turn out a bolt on distributor fixture (below at the basis), to remove the ignition distributor.
  4. Installation: distributive and cranked shaft still have to be in the provision of VMT (to check).
  5. Only models with the 4-cylinder engine: the cut at an end face of a shaft of the oil pump needs to be established in an ignition distributor opening parallel to a bent shaft.
  6. To turn the distributor roller so that the contact payment of the runner of the distributor coincided with a mark on the edge of the distributor case.
  7. To insert the ignition distributor, if necessary to turn its case, before coincidence to a mark. In conclusion to adjust ignition, see at the end of the head.
